I don't know why anyone else called it Stella's place but my husband, kids and I all called it that because it's where we went to go visit Stella. Stella Anderson was a personal friend of ours. I first met her when I was 17 years old and out on a boondocking trip with friends. She and her husband Clint were both living in the cabin at the time. When he died, she stayed on even though she was quite old and didn't get around much. When things got too tough for her to stay on, she was moved in to Crabtree Camp in Homewood Canyon where she lived out the rest of her life. As a young person I found her stories from her past interesting and entertaining. I don't know why Emmett wasn't fond of her but I can say that I really enjoyed her while she was here. For me, the old cabin will always be "Stella's Place".
