I had a set of the MT's on my truck awhile back. The key word there is "had". They work well on slick rock (aired down), and ok on dirt roads. Sand, well that's a different story. They are designed to dig. Not what you want in sand. As far as street use, that’s where my set fell apart. I rotated them on a regular basis, kept them balanced, paid close attention to air pressure etc.. nothing helped. By 12000 miles these tires were worn (unevenly) so bad, I had a real hard time just trying to keep the truck going in a straight line. Maybe it was just the set I had. I did switch back to the AT’s, and haven’t had any problems at all. I’ve been up Goler, Butte Valley, Warm Springs, South Park, East Mojave, etc.. never a flat. Yeah, I know now that I’ve said that…next trip I’ll probably shred one.
