Remember one thing in regards to the warnings about Flash Floods. The warnings come out of Vegas or another part of the country. Many of the folks out in the Death Valley area can't get the radio channels or tv channels so they don't hear them. There is also a huge amount of land in the Death Valley area and short of having a direct line to the Gods that direct weather the only way to know that one area is going to be hit by a flood over another is by watching the water rise in the wash. What is the park supposed to do? Close every road in the park on the off chance that it might have a flood on it? I can hear the screams from the disgruntled public now!!
