I'm thinking, if I can stand it, to Camp at Eureka Dunes somewhere and head to Saline Valley in the morning. I did read on this post site that going that direction is tough as there is some drop at Deckadera Canyon (sp) that is ok coming from Saline, but towards Saline may be hard. I'm in a Jeep Wrangler w/ high clearance and good off road tires...but I am alone, and fine w/ that, but don't have a winch. I'm torn between wanting isolation, and staying safe, so I don't want to get stuck or lost. I also don't want to have people messing w/ me or my vehicle which is another reason I'm looking to be away from folks, though I suspect this time of year I won't have to worry. Thanks again everyone for the advice. This is a great site.
