Forget the 10-215. Save the 300 dollars and drive the backroads. Just plan on arriving in Los Angeles outside of the commute hours. Take 405 north until it turns into 5 north. North on 14 to randsburg road- left at garlock split-north on 395, right on Searles station, Right on Trona road, and left to 190. Before heading to furnace, make a left at 190 and stop by Panamint springs. The friendly folks there provide much better service than all the other resorts. This drive with no stops can be completed easily in 4 hours at normal speeds.Cecile,Alan,Wango, and art were correct on the traffic situation in L.A- it sucks bigtime. One would rather chew broken glass than sit on the 405 at 5 pm.
