4wd rental from Vegas

Hi

I am thinking of renting a 4wd SUV from a car rental company from Vegas airport to reach some of the more outlying parts of Death Valley (The Racetrack being one of them)

Can anyone please share their experiences of doing this or at least shed any light on this idea
