The trail through Papoose was closed for a while
during excavation of native american artifacts, but reopened some years ago....I think we went through there in 94..95? Interestingly in Squaw Flat nearby we stopped for fotos etc and all the women on the trip sdaid..."wow, what a place to camp" and all the men in the group were totally spooked by the place...very weird. As the men were driving we did not camp there....
