I've recently read that the road up Middle Park Canyon is passable as far as the Gold Bug, but I'm not sure if the loop back down to Pleasant Canyon is do-able by vehicle.
However, this wouldn't put you overlooking the Clair Camp. Perhaps you are thinking of the road up to the World Beater mine, high above and just east of Clair Camp. I've not taken the old mining road to the top...
Any other reports?
