Gold bug mine

Has anyone driven up the Gold bug mine road
that goes along the ridge south of pleasant canyon? Is
the road still open? Is there anything up there worth
exploring or is it still an active claim?

I was there in 1982. Got to a spot over looking Clair camp
(which had just been abandoned). If I am recalling right there
were cabins and heavy equipment up there. I haven't
tried to go back up there, because of so many other spots
to explore.

Things were different then, drove to all the
way up surprise canyon on that trip. Gold Bug is one of
the trails I've been wanting to go back to, but I haven't
even noticed the turn off passing by on the valley road.
