I have read Michel Digonnet's book and his entry about Dry Mountain has got me wondering. He talks about something we'll see on the way to the mountain, but doesn't say what it is. My guess is it is something special and he doesn't want to see it destroyed. I may try part of the hike myself in March, but because I would likely be by myself and am not yet a "desert rat," I will probably keep it a day hike and just go to the foot of the mountain and back.
