I can't really give you the yes or no - suggest you contact Major Tom if you want an official opinion, otherwise do what you think is wisest.
A bunch of us were out in Saline on a work party weekend over Labor Day. We shoveled a LOT of sand. Still a lot of work to do, but progress is being made.
