First off I would like to applaud your project. I have consulted my handy dandy TOPO! maps and there seems to be a road, or series of roads, just to the east of Searles. As David said, they seem to be within Echo Range, but only for about five and three-quarters miles
parallel to the western boundry of the range and the greatest penetration of the range (the distance from the western boundry)is just a mere .4 of a mile. As a taxpayer and partial owner of the range I give you my permission to make the transit and I don't believe anyone would be the wiser. And if they do become the wiser let us hear your intresting story.
