The road from the Pinnacles used to run to Pilot Knob Valley and thence east to Shoshone/Tecopa prior to that land being taken out of public lands, now the same road being used and upgraded by the military. You might try contacting IMC Chemicals in Trona and speak with Arzell Hale and inquire if it is possible to use company roads on Searles Lake to fullfill your desire to cross over Trona via dirt roads. Arzell is the Director of Administration at the company. His number is (760)372-2139. There is quite a network of company roads across the lake, all unpaved, of course. I believe one of them will take you to the northern shore of Searles Lake, where you can tie in with the road past Valley Wells.
