Saw a jackass in a 4x4 group giving us other 4x4'er's a bad name shooting by shooting an AK47 indiscriminately in Chloride City ghost town in 1997. A camper was ducking in a ravine within 200 yards of the idiot. He was lobbing shells westward high into the sky, wouldn't surprise me if lead was falling all around cars on CA190 or hikers on the sand dunes. Good thing my cell phone was picking up the repeater at Sawtooth and I was able to give Ranger Dave a call. I wasn't about to approach the nut, I just got the hell out before he decided to ventilate my 4x4 and my bald head.
