It seems to me that though certain things are not "native", they are a vital part of the parks history, i.e. palm trees, burros, mining roads. I understand and agree with a policy of no new roads or developments, but the existing things are an important part of Death Valley's story.

In Sequoia NP there is a tunnel cut into a tree that you can drive through. No one would consider doing such a thing to a sequoia today, but does that mean we should cut that tree down because it should not have been done in the first place?
