a) The possibility of sudden flash floods is not well-known to all in Death Valley. b) My lack of good judgment? A Sunday drive going back to LA, taking roads that are open with no hazard warnings is lack of good judgement? Your point about anything being a risk is right, but if the state knows about an extraordinary risk, then they are duty bound to do something about it. I probably survived due to good judgement. I will not say, or let you say, as neither of us can know, that those people died of bad judgement. But, there is a case to be made, which I am making, that, perhaps, if the State did a better job, those people might be alive today. Forget about me, I am alive and safe. But, you don't know anything about why I made the decisions I made to end up where I was the other night, so you have no metric on my judgement, good or bad, therefore making your comments self-centered and beside the point.
