Rob, Glad you are safe, but give me a break!! You are just like the guy who had to be recued on Mt. Whitney this spring. Bad weather moved in and prevented rescue teams from getting to him for a few days. He said if it had taken a day linger he would have sued the NPS and responding agencies. Even though he was ill prepared for the weather and inexperienced in winter mountaineering. He expected to make a cell phone call and be rescued the same day. Bottom line take responsibility for yourself. I was driving south on 395 on the day of the storm and came very close to making a detour into DV but when I saw the dark clouds I made a judgement call not to, especialy with my wife and two kids in the car with me. I pass road closed signs all the time on the way out to Saline Valley but if the poop hits the fan and I get stuck because I chose to ignore the sign, I am the one to take the blame and responsibility. Rob if you plan on spending more time in wild places I would suggest taking a bit more responsibility for you actions. You still havn't answered my question from the previous thread. Why did you excpect the CHP or Cal Trans to com rescue you when you were stuck on high ground surounded by flashflood? Don't you think they were probably doing the same.
