For your information the road was blocked at both ends of the flood zone as the flood was taking place. Controls were put in place as soon as the water started flowing. People were warned and didn't leave quickly enough so they got trapped and people also drove around the closure signs in a number of places besides Furnace Creek and got themselves stuck. There also was virtually no time to warn the Xanterra employees at the Inn before the water hit. The people handling this incident did everything they were supposed to at the time it was taking place. It all comes down to the fact that people are harder to herd than cats with attitudes. Before you spout off you might want to get your facts straight! That includes the RUMOURS about a third death. That is all they are!
