The National Park is officially closed, at least for 48 hours. I'm not kidding, they have roadblocks at some of the entrances. Massive flash floods last night in Furnace Creek area.

Electricity still out, some phones work, some don't. Water supply to FC Ranch damaged, boil order in effect. FC Ranch and Stovepipe Wells are closed, guests have been evacuated out via Townes Pass and hwy 395. FC Inn was closed anyway for summer.

Two fatalities, caught in a car near Zabriskie point. ID pending. Multiple empty cars swept out of parking in front of Xanterra employee housing. The cars were swept across the road and destroyed. NPS, CHP and Inyo looking for additional stranded people.

Highway 190 completely destroyed from FC Inn to Dante's View turnoff -- pavement washed away, topography changed. Several months (at least) for repair. Other roads expected to open soon. NO ETA on electricity repair, either. Major damage at intersection of 190 and Badwater road, meaning that Badwater road will be closed until some sort of new intersection can be banged together.

Possibility of more storms tonight....
