Rockhouse Basis had so many rattlesnakes that it was hard to not encounter one. Over a period of 10 years, we had at least a dozen come into our camp while we were sitting there. We always slept on cots and one morning, I was getting up and under my sons cot, coiled up on his pants was a rattler. Way away from camp, I left the snakes alone. In camp, they were not only threatened, they were dead. Made a nice addition to the evening meal.
