Definitely easier coming up from Swansea. If there are going to be problems it's coming the other way. In the past year, it's gotten worse coming from Swansea, though, and there was recently a roll-over up there somewhere. We normally take our 4wd tours from Swansea to Cerro Gordo, but since we are dealing with newbies with various skills, and no lockers in their vehicles, we've decided to go up the Yellow Grade road this time - because of one particular spot. Not as much fun, but better safe than sorry, and our main attraction is Cerro Gordo anyway. Let me see if I can link you to the pictures David Wright took when he pre-ran this for us last week.
