You can look all day but you will not find me. I do not travel in a 40 foot tour bus and I will not stop at the fee station because the employees refuse to be nice to the public. Iam aware that they are understaffed and way underpaid for out there in the boonies, and Iam glad that they are there. I simply choose to avoid being treated like Iam in trouble by avoiding the fee station.
For the record...when rock picking was free and legal, my family of 7 filled up a new 1963 Ford Econoline with petrified wood. 3 years ago when my grandma passed away, I returned every darn rock to the petrified forest preserve. Her little house in Wilmington, Ca, had several planters that were constructed out of the rock(1964). The ranger sent my kid a thank you letter that she has framed. Last week in the Lone pine gazette I noticed a resident selling 2 of those logs for 1200 dollars firm. I returned 85 of them.
Keep up the good work..Scootertrash the fee bandit is also never caught.........
