Rubert, I heard the debate a few months back on the new cement addition but never understood, never having been there. I think we snoozed for a few hours just north of there on Scootertrash's fist Butte Valley trip. I missed the turn off in the dark.
Your before and after pictures were awesome!! I mostly support the Park Service even though I don't always agree with what they do. That concrete abortion absolutely RAPED the natural beauty of the place. Now I wish I had seen it before they ruined it. I don't know what I could've done to prevent it. Maybe I could've recycled some Alaskan Amber into the cement and it wouldn't have set. Who knows. I least I could have seen it before it was wrecked for all.
This just another shining example of why it's best to get off your butt, and GET OUTSIDE and enjoy these places before they're gone.
