Yesterday I was on top of Whitney and was thinking the same thing. The lightning hut is grounded, but if the floor is wet and you have an aluminum backpack, wouldnt your backside be in deep bandini if struck? I enjoy showing off my trek poles because they are old aluminum ski poles that I got for a dime at the church rummage sale....those could jack me up huh?
Those clouds sat on back of the mountain all day. Whitney was beautiful and very few people. Only 6 campers in trail camp and the rabbit rangers didnt inspect my bear cannister.
