The NPS position re construction (e.g., concrete pools) at the Saline Valley hot springs is that nothing more may be added. (Well, except by the NPS itself, like the new outhourses.) For instance, Rangers required that the recently-added "cool pool" at the Lower Warm Springs (which was actually very aesthetically constructed) be torn apart. And now it's an ugly sludgy mess....
