Back way to Cerro Gordo ?

Howdy pards...25 years ago I used to hang out in Saline quite a bit..I seem to remember a road that that took of to the west from the Saline Valley Rd. on the flats before you got to the south pass. I was told it went to Cerro Gordo..is it still there and passable?
