Ever been low on fuel in the desert? Panamint Jerry fills his car in Lone pine because the price is less than his wholesale cost at the station HE owns. It will take him 475 years to pay for that gas pump on what he makes on fuel. He put that fuel station in only because of the requests he had by people like me who travel in the back country. 2.88 is a deal when it is 2.55 in Los angeles.
