I havn't seen the commercial, but I drove past the day they were filming it -- they were set up on the shoulder of 190 right in the middle of the lake bed. The binoculars and things were just temporary props. CHP was doing traffic control, they had several large trucks, a buffet, the works. Quite and operation.
