Speaking of Racetrack and TV, watched the PBS program Savage Planet "Extremes" last night. About half of it was on DV, including the study of the rocks. Perhaps this has been discussed on this site. Sorry, if this is old info.
There was a young woman featured as a part of the show. She spends many hours a year studying the rocks. Refers to them as "the girls". Perhaps this was the PhD?
Also featured were the current USGS studies on the weather at Badwater. Good coverage on this subject.
The discussion regarding the missing German tourists was somewhat weak. Did not seem to mention who these folks were or where they were in the park. Did mention that it was one of the most remote parts of the Park.
Thought that there would have been photos of their vehicle and the location where it was found in upper Anvil Springs Wash. Would have supported the rugged theme of the program. Just my opinion.
Other than that, not a bad program overall.
