I ran BFG A/Ts for a long time, mostly in the Sierra high country. The DV area is much more rocky, and chews up tires. I never used the M/Ts, so can't say if they're any better. Like as not most off road tires are comparable, so buy the ones you like and take fix-a-flat and an extra spare.
