Upto 1985, the mouth of Goler was big rocks and waterfalls. It was a moderately difficult route even for a 4WD. Warm Spring Canyon and Stripped Butte Valley were fairly easy upto Mengle Pass. Mengle Pass down to the Barker ranch would have been difficult for a bus. Then how would one get the bus under that cottonwood tree. I have been on the road which goes from the Barker Ranch, by the Meyer Ranch and down to Wingate wash before the park service closed it down. This was an easy route and probably the only way Charlie could get a bus into the ranch.
