Years ago comming down the north fork of Trail Cyn. we over heated the truck. Upon a quick check we found the lower hose was leaking. Sam slid under with a screwdriver and tighten up the clamp. Ops, it was the sodder on the drain pipe that was leaking, not the hose. We now had a strong running drip. We coasted all the way down Trail Cyn. and onto the West Side Road but with no downhill we stopped. As luck would have it a 4wd came by and towwed us to FCR. We bought seal stop at the station, filled up with water and headed home. We had to refill the radiator around Beatty Cutoff and ended up pulling into SPW around 10pm Sat. night New Years Eve.
No problem, Demented Dave, Deadhead Bob and others helped us get confortable that night. The next morning Harry Tucker let us use the shop's tools to remove and repair the leak. The truck lasted for years after that.

Chuck
