Rattlesnake

I was in Rhoylite on the 12 of this month (my first time). We looked around in the town and then went to the cemetary. First I would like to explain that I was very careful not to walk to close to the bushes. I started to walk towards Panamint Annes headstone notice a lot of holes around the bushes. About 2 ft ahead of me I seen something move at the edge of a bush and there it was, a rattlesnake. He was in the stike position. I'm glad he moved or I wouldn't have seen him. It was a close incounter but a great experience.
Could someone tell me what kind of snake it could have been. As far as I could tell his body was mostly grey or light in color.
