The routes listed are good. The southern route
through Visalia is more scenic that the the Fresno route, but is not reccemended for large motorhomes or trailers. Mid size rigs do fine on the road. The south entrance brings you right
up into giant forest and some of the better sites.
Crystal Cave, Morro Rock,& the new museum at Giant forest.
There is also a nice shortcut out of bakersfield (route 65) that goes through Porterville and by passes Visalia. This road is again more scenic than "99" and a bit shorter.
