I assume you are fit. March can bring temps up to 100 during the day (or not) in the valley. Bring water, and lots of it. The extremely low humidity sucks the water from your lungs, even though you may not be sweating. A small drop in your body water content brings on a geometric loss in endurance.

I guess you could try working out outdoors in tons of clothes to build heat, or do bike/treadmill stuff at home with the heat cranked up. I've heard of people training in a dry sauna to acclimate to heat.

Telescope Peak is 11,000 feet. The higher elevations should still be relatively cool in March, and fit your present weather regime.
