Panamint Springs Resort's public wireless network is up and running. This service is available at no charge — just bring your own laptop with an 802.11 wireless card.

The SSID for the wireless is DVTALKACCESS. There is no encryption, no firewall, no password, etc. Internet access is via a satellite link, and as such has some delay. This is not intended to download huge files, but rather to be able to check e-mail and maybe post a few photos online.

The range of the wireless varies, but generally is fine anywhere on the veranda and inside the restaurant. Some of the motel units may have service, and the front row of tent campsites have service. Service is marginal to some of the full hookup RV sites, but does not extend to the water-only RV sites.

There are other wireless access points that will show up as unknown. These are for the PSR business, and are encrypted. Please respect PSR's privacy and do not attempt to use those networks.

Lastly, please note that this service is provided with no virus protection or other internet security. You are responsible for safeguarding your own computer while on the network. This service is provided by Panamint Springs Resort for the convenience of its guests and visitors, however, Panamint Springs Resort is not responsible for problems that might occur as a result of accessing this public network.
