Posted by Last Chance Rand on November 06, 2001 at 23:13:03: (6.5 Miles one-way) Beginning off of Indian Ranch Road, approximately 4 miles east of its intersection with the Trona-Wildrose Road, the Jail Canyon trail winds northeast across a long aluvial fan before dropping into the canyon wash. The first 3 miles cross BLM lands, while the remainder is within Death Valley National Park. The road deadends at the remains of the Corona Mine camp, amids a good assortment of mining equipment and a fine but small cabin. Continue along the footpath up the narrow, high-walled canyon, along a cool & noisy perenial stream, to various mining structures, many tunnels and even a second cabin.
