This is what I use. Zero brand RV80 12V Danfoss compressor. I looked at the GEV-70 and if you want to run on gas fine but you will have to watch the wind blowing out the pilot. If you want
to run on 12V it will take ALOT more watts than
running the RV80 on 12V. They don't even tell you
how many watts it takes when running on 12V or 120V. The RV80 takes 3.5amps at 12V when running.
The RV80 is also 2.6CF. If you buy the GEV-70 you will need to buy a regulator and fittings to
hook up to a propane tank. Buy a good quality regulator. GEV-70 must be level when operating.
I would think hard about a gas fridge and make
sure you know what you are getting into. This type of unit will require a healthy wire from
the battery when running in your truck and you
don't want to run on propane while moving.

I drive the freezer with 2,120watt solar panels that charge a 8D AGM 250AH battery. So far it has worked great and even on cloudy days I get
enough juice to run things and recharge the battery from running the freezer overnight.

Good luck on figuring this all out but I was buying so much dry ice I can recover my costs in
five years of camping so I did it with solar. I
think the gas thing can work but you will have to
be careful about the wind and figure out how to
run the unit on 12V when it is in your truck going to the desert. It was a real pleasure after
a week in DV to still have ice cream and fresh ice for margarita's. Nothing like a frozen lime
bar while resting in the desert!!
