My husband and I were out to the Saline Valley Hot Springs the first weekend in February, and on the way out toward South Pass, and we saw a nice little bobcat cross the road in front of us. He came out of the marsh down where the road gets close to the lake....near the saltworks....and then he stood on a rocky bank on the West side of the road and posed for us. I have a 40x zoom on my camera, but he was so close I didn't need but half of it. I took 3 shots of him, zooming in closer till he filled my frame, the the 4th shot was of his tail! Got 3 nice pictures, though. I've got to get some of my photos on a website somewhere so I can post them. In November we took some not so good picures of a large bird on a post off of the road up to Darwin. He had a mouse, but what was really unusual, he was mostly white. He was some sort of hawk in transitional coloring...really mottled. Pretty nifty.
