Yes the place is a big mess. It is located just over the Nevada line when coming North on the Tecopa Road/Old Spanish Trail Hwy from Tecopa to LV. As you cross the state line going towards Hwy 160 about 4 miles up, you will see the sign on the left heading in to the Ranch. The sign now says "Catherdral Canyon closed. A few miles north of that enterance you'll see "Front Site" road. This privately maintained super hwy leads over to the new "Stand-A-Lone" community of Front Site, Nevada, deemed the safest town in Nevada. It is a private town geared towards shooting, tactical training and the skills associated with self defense and survival training. You need a membership to go in there, or pay a fee to take a course there. It is a big deal really-and there is a new two lane, freshly paved highway leading 5 miles to the Front Site Main gates and Runways up on the Bluffs overlooking Nopah Dry Lake. This new road cuts through part of the old Hidden Hills Ranch. So I don't know if Front Site owner bought all , or some of the land from the Wiley estate, or whether they just have an easement to cut accross the nothern part of the ranch. I would hate to think that such an upscale firm would also now own a trashed-out ranch and leave it that way.
Anyway-the easier and nicer way into the ranch nowadays is down Front Site Road. 2/3rds of the way to the Front Site gate you'll see a small sign to "Hidden Hills Ranch" and there are no Keep Out signs, or private property signs there. You'll enter the ranch from the north of the ranch's building complex on so so dirt roads. You could never get in this way before. Lots of things change in 25 years. Check these links too:
