I returned to Hidden Hills Ranch over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I once lived there at the 17,00 acre Hidden Hills Ranch as a young man and have not been there since around 1976; when I left for Adelanto in a small plane.

For any of you who visited Hidden Hills and Cathedral Canyon in its prime, these images may make your heart sink. Roland Wiley's legacy is now just the land and all of his hard efforts to have a nice ranch are in ruins thanks to neglect and vandals. VAndals with guns.

I slept in a sweet deluxe cabin that is now a pile of nails and splinters. The cabin 's inner walls were high qiality tounge and groove knotty pine. Evedentally, some one carted-off with all four walls.

The Kitchen was our favorite place to gather. It was fully funished in oak, had paintings, lots of furnature, appliances and food. There was a table for twelve (12) in the center of the room. Look what the hooligans have done.

The ranch complex had a Gym trailer that was new and chock-full of excercise equipment. It is all destroyed ; as is the trailer. The other cabins still standing are all trashed. Shotgun blasts adorn all of the shower stalls and bathtubs and have taken-out the windows and doors.

What was once one of bets places on earth is now a shambles. Roland hgad one heck of a nice spread out there. The canyon is devoid of all the artwork. The bridge is gone. Everything is shot-up. The airport is a mess too. Windsock's a bare thread and bushes are taking root everywhere it is flat.

Anyone ever been out there?

Rich
