Since the Mills at World Beater Mine, the Ratcliff Mine, and a few other Mills were steam powered at the turn of the century, the cut wood could have also been used to provide fuel to fire the boilers.
These huge boilers may still be seen at the Ratcliff, and World Beater Mines.
There was also another steam powered mill, that you can see the boiler and stamps just off of the road up pleasant canyon, this mill was a "custom" mill run by a woman.
