Final EIS-Mojave Desert

The “Final Environmental Impact Statement [for the] Northern and Eastern Mojave Desert Management Plan” is off the press. I just received the statement and appendices (dated July 2002).

Of interest: the Amargosa River (26 miles of it) and Surprise Canyon (5 miles of it) are included as possible Wild and Scenic Rivers (appendices O & T).

Maybe someone out there can locate the document on the Internet. Each printed volume is one inch thick and they weigh several pounds. So much for the “paperless office.”
