Depending on where your final destination would be, in this case I picked the Furnace Creek Visitors Center, and the amount of scenary your looking at about 125-150 miles from L.V. one way(depending on the route you choose). A good 3+ hours.(The route I suggest: I-15 west to 160 N to NV372/(turn into CA178 into Shoshone continue on 178 towards Furnace Creek. Hope you have more that 1 day as you will not even scratch the surface of sightseeing in DV. Try this site for suggested routes. Bring a camera & drink plenty of water and enjoy. The next time you go you'll stay much longer!
