Read this thread with interest, as we are coming to DV for the first time -- 1st week in April. Driving suburban 1500 w/ 4wd. Have done a lot of desert driving in Utah. Seeking advice on similar question: challenging drives to remote areas for camping and hiking. Not as challenging as Steel, or the "Chicken Rock/Bridge" loop, or the others on the other thread about the worst places in DV. Just challenging...
We will spend about 5 days and would welcome any suggestions. The Hunter Mt. loop described here sounds good. Any others?
