There's not much to do or see at Kelso Station. If I remember correctly (I was there last February) the depot is mostly boarded up but there still are a few windows you can look into. The building itself, however, is locked. There is a sign from Interior Dept. noting the historical significance of the station. The "town" looks like it's still inhabited by a few people...presumably railroad workers. From what I understand the railroad still operates...it's just that Kelso station is closed.

If you're going to be in Kelso though, I recommend Kelso dunes. Desert animals scurrying across the sand and total, complete silence if you're there alone like I was. And if you're up to it, walk to the top of the dune....it's a hike but the view is spectacular!
