The reason this place is closed to outside access is because the 'powers that be' are trying to look out for those of us who live here. Bless their hearts...
However, most of the people who live here are not 'desert rats', but rather city kids who work for the concession and are scared to death because of this recent flood. So, we are all being treated at that level. The feds are treating you at that level as well.
Personally, I would welcome you as you know how to lock in hubs and live in the backcountry. In other words, I think all deep desert type folks should be allowed free access out here. However, that is not the case. The feds are involved. Go figure.
I'm not unknown out here and will probably catch some flak over this. Oh well. Life is rough in the desert but it beats freeway traffic.

Why don't some of the rest of you volunteer for grunt work. Help us dig out. That will get you photographers next to the shots.
