Good web site, but info is a little off. Olancha is in INYO County, Not Kern County. It is located at Hwy 395 and Hwy 190, Not 395 and 178. That is Inyokern's location.
Most of the areas discussed in this forum are in Inyo County. Sorry for the tirade, we just get a little tired for other areas of the state getting credit for what we have in this great county.
If my memory serves me correctly, Manson and his followers originally attracted local law enforcement by committing arson to a road grader, not vandalism. Until just a couple of years ago, Inyo County still had a warrant of arrest charging Charles Manson with Arson
