Taken from a web site (one of many): "Concentrated muriatic acid is one of the strongest acids known. It readily attacks all of the com- mon metals to yield hydrogen as a by-product. Extreme caution should be taken as certain con- centrations of hydrogen in air may be highly explosive. Solutions of muriatic acid are capable of causing severe flesh burns and its vapors are irritating to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. See the appropriate MSDS or the safety sections of this publication." Muriatic acid is typically in the 32% concentration range; as concentrated as you can get it.
