PRIVATE PARTY OFFERING $5,000 FOR INFO LEADING TO CAPTURE

A private, unidentified party has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and successful prosecution of a suspected burglar who has eluded law enforcement authorities for more than a month in the rugged terrain of northern Nye County.

The manhunt began following a series of burglaries in which two motor vehicles, an ATV, food, weapons, and supplies were stolen from local ranches and cabins.

Sheriff Tony DeMeo said there were concerns the man might be a domestic terrorist. In March deputies tracked the man to a campsite where more than 10 rifles were recovered along with a Subaru that had been stolen out of Death Valley the previous month.

The suspect is described as a white, male adult between 35-45 years old with dark brown shoulder length hair. Contrary to a previous report, authorities say the man is clean-shaven. He is tanned due to constant exposure to the outdoors and might have a cut on the bridge of his nose. The suspect was characterized as having "big teeth."

He might be driving a stolen 1991 Ford pickup with mag rims, Nevada license plate number 877 HZB. The pickup bed could be carrying a green ATV and black trash bags used to store supplies.
